Indepedent Board Member

We are looking for an Independent Board Member who has business, financial or management skills and is able to communicate and act in a non-executive capacity.

MWS is a not-for-profit customer focussed business providing housing and related support services to over 2,100 tenants in Western Somerset and parts of Devon. With a turnover of £9.5 m and a development programme of new homes, we are in the forefront of housing provision in our area of operation.

The role of the Board is to set strategic plans, operational targets and oversee the Association’s business performance. You will play a key role in influencing our priorities and how our services are delivered. You may be an executive looking for non-executive experience, with a positive and constructive approach, the ability to work as part of a team and have a willingness to commit the time necessary to prepare for, and attend Board meetings.

If you think you could contribute to our future, we’d like to hear from you. The Board usually meets seven times a year on Tuesday evenings in Williton. The post is unremunerated, however reasonable expenses are paid e.g. travel to and from meetings and child care costs.
