Magna is a non-profit making group of housing organisations. These associations are independent, private organisations, known more formally as Registered Social Landlords (RSLs).

Magna Housing Association Ltd (MHA) and Magna West Somerset Housing Association Ltd (MWS) are subsidiaries of our parent body, Magna Housing Group Ltd (MHGL).

Magna Careline Ltd is a subsidiary of Magna Housing Association Ltd (MHA) which is in turn a subsidiary of Magna Housing Group Ltd (MHGL).

Our day-to-day operations are managed by paid staff, but our activities as a social landlord are directed by unpaid Boards made up of Members from the local community.

MHA and MWS are registered as Industrial and Provident Societies and are governed by rules approved by the Registry of Friendly Societies and the Housing Corporation. Magna Housing Group's headquarters is at Hollands House in Dorchester, Dorset. MHA's main office is also at Hollands House, while MWS is based at St Peter's House in Williton, Somerset.

What We Do
Magna provides and manages good quality housing in the South West of England. Our homes are for people who cannot afford to buy the accommodation they need on the open housing market.

Magna Housing Association operates in Dorset, Devon, South Gloucestershire and Somerset. We have 5,764 homes to let (as at 31st December 2007), plus 68 currently under construction. Additionally MHA provides 127 shared ownership homes, with another 9 under construction.

Magna West Somerset Housing Association operates in Somerset and Devon, since gaining homes and garages from West Somerset District Council in 1998. We currently have 2,055 homes to let and 24 shared ownership properties, with another 27 homes to let and 7 homes to buy under the shared ownership scheme currently under construction.

Some of the work we do is as part of the Source Development Partnership. This is a partnership of Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) who have many years' experience providing a broad range of high quality developments in rural areas, towns and city centres.
