A double whammy! Husband and wife team, Alice and Eric Phoenix, pick up second prize at Rodhill’s Easter Bonnet Competition.

10.04.07 - Magna residents egg-cited over Easter

Residents at one of Magna Housing Association’s sheltered housing schemes dusted off their Easter bonnets this week and had a cracking time to boot!

Residents and Magna sheltered housing officers enjoyed an Easter Bonnet Competition at Rodhill, Puddletown, which went down a storm with all who attended. Also for residents to enjoy was a bric-a-brac stall, jewellery stall, a raffle, tea, coffee and hot cross buns. Dorchester Chocolates kindly donated a few tasty goodies to go nicely with a cuppa.

Sheltered housing officer, Chris McKenna, helped organise the event, “It was a lovely afternoon and the residents really got into the spirit of things. The standard of craftwork was very high, a lot of time and effort must have gone into making their bonnets.”

Chris adds, “We were very pleased to have Patrick Cook from nearby Athelhampton House, his wife Andrea, and sons, George and James, who kindly gave up their time to judge the competition.”

First prize went to Alice Phoenix with her daffodil creation, second prize went to Eric Phoenix and third was Vera Saunders. All the winners received Easter Eggs.
