04.08.06 - Magna celebrates first year with FiDo

FiDo, the First in Dorset Credit Union Ltd, has been like a dog with two tails this week after celebrating its first birthday at Bailey’s - its High East Street Service Point in central Dorchester.

FiDo linked up with local housing association Magna last year, following the end of the lease on their old premises in the town, to ensure this essential financial service continued to be provided to local people.

Brian Parkhurst, who negotiated the move into Bailey’s last year for FiDo says, “We are very grateful to Magna for extending this helping hand. We could not imagine a better base. FiDo is thriving and we invite new members to join us.
Being at Bailey’s has definitely been a boon for both volunteers manning the Service Point and members going there to deposit savings and withdraw money.”

FiDo provides opportunities for loans which are probably cheaper than anywhere else and members enjoy the flexibility of different savings accounts. At this time of year, members are thinking about saving for Christmas and are salting away money in their Christmas Club accounts.
