Head of Magna’s building services department, Trea Murphy, presents John Trump with his £50 reward as part of the ‘Work 4 Magna’ initiative.

10.08.06 - Magna initiative comes up Trumps!

John Trump, became the first Magna employee to earn himself £50 this month, as part the organisation’s ‘Work 4 Magna’ initiative.

The initiative started earlier this summer as an incentive for current employees to encourage others to join Magna. The initiative works by current employees talking to people they know about vacancies within the organisation. If that person applies and is successful in getting the job, the member of staff who introduced them gets their £50 reward.

John Trump, suggested to old friend, Janet Rowan, that she should apply for a part-time administrator’s post based in Magna’s Bridport office. Janet applied for the job, was interviewed through the normal process and was successfully appointed.

Head of Personnel for Magna, Ros Booton says, “Often the best form of advertising is by ‘word of mouth’. Who better to advertise that Magna is a good place to work than the people that already work here? This is a good start to this initiative we hope it will help encourage more people to take an interest in us as a suitable employer and earn more staff a bit of extra cash in the process.”
