06.03.07 - Award for Magna

Magna Housing Group has recently been awarded a ‘green light’ for Charter Client Status giving it an important ‘all clear’ for providing more homes over the next year.

Charter Client Status and the Clients’ Charter is administered by the Construction Clients’ Group (CCG), which supports various organisations, including housing associations, by promoting best practice in construction.

The Construction Clients’ Charter was launched in 2001 to enable organisations to improve how they build. By signing up to the Charter, Magna has made a commitment to continuously improving its performance.

Magna’s group chief executive, Graham Colls, said of the award, “This is a great achievement for us. It means we’ve been recognised as doing well in the way we work when providing and building new homes and means we’ve ‘passed our MOT’ for providing more housing over the next year.”

By achieving a ‘green light’, Magna has shown that it is fully compliant with the CCG’s standards. These standards sit well with those set by the Housing Corporation and will no doubt put Magna on the right track when the time comes for the Housing Corporation to undertake their own assessment.

Head of Magna’s development department, Mark Mabey, adds, “We are really pleased with our green light Charter status. It recognises the hard work that we put into delivering our development programme and gives us a great springboard for the coming 12 months.”
