09.08.07 - Magna Housing Group staff support local hospice

Magna Housing Group, based in Dorchester, donated £578 to the Weldmar Hospice Trust. The money was collected by Magna staff who have a ‘Dress Down Day’ every month. The staff also get to vote on which charities the money is given to.

Group Chief Executive for Magna Housing, Graham Colls visited the Weldmar Hospice Trust’s facility at Herringston Road on Monday to see how the charity money will be used. Handing over the cheque to Caroline Nickinson, Director of Fundraising, Graham commented, “I was so impressed by what I saw and heard, the hospice has an important job to do, and does it very well. I’m very pleased that Magna staff want to support the charity in it’s work.”

Weldmar Hospice Trust operate in the the Dorset area and support people with cancer. Graham added, “The building welcomes visitors into a calm, attractive environment. The facilities cater for all denominations of people and include areas for complimentary therapy and diversionary therapy. I think our money will be well used and Magna will certainly think about other ways in which it may help the Trust in the future.”

An equal donation of £578 will be presented to The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance this week.
