09.11.07 - Magna to progress with garage proposals

Following public consultations, Magna Housing Association will be progressing with proposals to develop two Dorchester sites into affordable homes.

The sites at Martyr Close and Eddison Avenue are both currently being used as garages and would provide ten new affordable homes.

The consultations, which took place in August and involved residents and councillors, looked at Magna Housing Association’s proposals to develop six sites in the Bridport and Dorchester areas.

Residents who might be affected by the proposed development have been personally notified and Magna will continue to inform them of the proposal’s progress.

Sean Craik, Area Project Manager, said:

“We are grateful for the participation of everyone involved in this process who gave us such helpful feedback and the decision to potentially develop these sites is based on the consideration of the responses received. Magna is always looking at new and innovative ways of providing affordable homes for our community.”

Magna Housing Association will not, at this time, be progressing with plans to develop the four other proposed sites in Bridport and Dorchester.
