23.1.2008 - Re-housing of Miss T. Jones

Magna Housing Association allocated Miss Teri Jones a 2nd floor flat in Princess Road, Bridport in November 2006. Her nomination came from West Dorset Housing Partnership following her application to be moved from her family home where she had claimed she suffered from overcrowding.

MHA were aware at the time of allocation that Ms Jones had a disabled son and that she had the right to apply for a transfer to a more suitable type of accommodation. MHA explained that there was no guarantee as to how quickly the family would be transferred, due to the lack of family homes in the area.’

Miss Jones, aware of these facts, accepted her Magna accommodation and duly applied for a transfer to a house. Her application has been awarded the highest banding which makes her a priority for being re-housed. Unfortunately she is not the only applicant in this situation.

Miss Jones is also on the West Dorset Housing Partnership waiting list, as they control a large percentage of nominations across West Dorset. In the meantime, MHA will continue to look for a more suitable home for the family.
