03.07.07 - Community Meals Service reaches dizzy heights in National Awards Ceremony

The National Housing Federation’s Neighbourhood awards pays tribute to Housing Associations who have made their local community a better place to live.

Unique in being judged by tenants from across the country, Magna West Somerset’s Community Meals Service have been nominated under the category of Customer Frontline Award.

This is the second year that Magna West Somerset have been nominated for an award, last year being shortlisted for the Independent Living & Older People Award for their Domestic Abuse Service.

Tony Murray, Director of MWS said “We are delighted to have been nominated for the second year running. We are very proud of our community meals service which provides freshly cooked meals to many vulnerable people who may otherwise not see anyone and may not benefit from a freshly prepared meal”.

The winners of the awards will be announced at a gala dinner awards ceremony in Birmingham at the National Conference Centre, as part of an NHF Conference on 20 September 2007 hosted by Trisha Goddard.
