23.11.06 - Magna residents get arty

This year has seen Magna West Somerset Housing Association’s first ever Residents’ Art Competition.

The Competition, held to encourage residents to become more active and take up a hobby in their spare time, has been a huge success.

Community services team leader for Magna, Neil Bliss, who helped to organise the competition, was delighted with the response. He commented, “We were really pleased with the enthusiasm shown by residents for this competition. Not only was the number we received impressive but the quality was incredible too.”

Magna saw a fantastic response with over fifty entries from residents of all ages. Two categories were run, one for paintings and drawings and a second for the more ‘crafty’ elements such as embroidery, sculpture or even card-making. Residents of all ages took part, from 7 up to 78 years old, as well as some of Magna residents who have learning difficulties.
