17.10.07 - Magna continues to consult over garage proposals

Magna West Somerset has this week met with Town and District Councillors and local residents to continue to consult on any future proposals over seven garage sites in Watchet.

Sarah Barney, Area Project Manager for Charter SW Ltd (part of the Magna Housing Group) and Christine Boland, Tenant Services Manager for Magna West Somerset met with Councillors and residents to discuss their plans and to listen to the views of local people affected by these plans. The garages, which are leased to local people could potentially be demolished to make way for 15 new affordable homes for local people. Magna does recognise that there are parking problems in the area, and is taking this into consideration along with all of the correspondence it has received from concerned local people so far..

The deadline for the receipt of comments has been extended to the 18th October Comments should be addressed to Sarah Barney c/o Magna West Somerset offices in Bridge Street, Williton.

Magna is keen to stress that all options remain on the table and until all the comments have been considered, no final decision will be made.
