Lettings Statistics
LETTINGS AND EMPTY HOMES STATISTICS
Every week, housing management staff receive reports about how many homes we have re-let and how long it has taken us to re-let them. These reports show us how we are performing and help us to make decisions about how to improve our performance and provide a better and quicker service for new tenants.
Lettings - April 2007 - March 2008 and Year to date
Between April 2007 and the end of March 2008, we re-let a total of 157 properties. The year before that, April 2006– March 2007, we re-let 160 properties. The number of re-lets is determined by how many existing tenants move out of their homes.
So far this year, we have re-let 12 properties.
We have a nominations agreement with West Somerset District Council (WSDC) which says that of all the empty properties that we re-let, two thirds will be let to people on their register and one third will be from ours. So far this year, we re-let 4 of our empty homes to nominees from our own waiting list.
Empty Homes
We have target times for re-letting empty properties which are 24 days for general needs and 23 days for sheltered housing and supported housing.
The following table shows how we have performed recently:

Satisfaction with lettings process
To make sure that the people we re-house are satisfied with the overall service and are happy with their new homes, we survey new tenants to find out their feelings. To do this we ask new tenants a number of questions. The percentages of tenants who said 'yes' during December 2007 to February 2008 (of the 24 we wrote to) are shown below:
- Were you treated politely? 100%
- Did we keep you informed? 100%
- Was the information we sent understandable? 100%
- Are you satisfied with the condition of your new home? 96%
