Gas safety
We carry out gas safety checks every year on all of our properties that have a gas appliance or service pipe.
Do not obstruct the fresh air vent to any gas appliance. If you smell gas, follow these simple steps.
Turn off the gas supply. The on/off lever can be found next to your gas meter.
Open all windows and doors.
Do not turn on or off any lights or sockets, strike matches, or light cigarettes.
Ring Transco or your gas supplier immediately to report the escape. Look in your telephone directory under Gas for the number, or ring 0800 111 999 (freephone).
Then ring Customer Services on one of the freephone emergency numbers below.
