Coronavirus: Community hubs and support

There are lots of groups and community hubs being set up across the country to support people through the Coronavirus epidemic.  We've collated some useful resources across Dorset and Somerset to help our customers through this time. 

Please note these groups are independent and have been set up by local individuals.  The listing of them is not an endorsement and they are not associated with Magna.

  • Sherborne Viral Kindness - has been set up by the independent businesses of Sherborne to help our special community through these tough times. Self-isolating, social distancing or just being extra careful, we can help. Also shopping, food delivery, collection of prescriptions, dog walking anything you need whilst in isolation.  07884 115987

  • Salway Ash, Netherbury and Melplash Coronavirus Support Group  - Need help or can offer help? The easiest way for us to keep track of who can offer help and match those up with who need help is for you to email us at







  • Chardcovhelp - The Chard COVID-19 Support Group is run in conjunction with Chard Town Council and local voluntary organisations. We are here to help those residents of the Chard area who need to self-isolate during this emergency period as the Corona Virus (SARS-CoV-2) circulates.

  • JW Gifford Charitable Trust - A Charity set up to support poorer families and individuals of the parish of Chard. In the past the trust has granted funding for various requests such as white goods, carpet, medical equipment and horse-riding therapy.  Telephone 01460 66265 Email:

  • Dulverton Area Coronavirus Support Group - A group to provide positive action and support in our community at this time of need. Our aim is to share information and help connect people with support and advice.
