I am sure that this Christmas will be very different with the necessary social restrictions in place, and many of us are not able to get together with our friends and loved ones. The news of a vaccine is very welcome, and hopefully we will not have to wait too long for it to be rolled out.
I wanted to extend my thanks to you all for your support and your patience over the past year. When we started 2020 we had no idea what the year would bring and how it would impact every aspect of our lives. Over the year our priority has been to keep our customers and our staff team safe and this has limited our ability to offer a full service at times. Thank you for being so understanding.
So what of 2021? We have ambitious plans for the coming year. We have just implemented a new system to manage our customer interactions, and have introduced a single contact number and email address. Our customers are our main priority and we want to do all we can to make your experience of dealing with us as easy and enjoyable as possible; this will be our main focus over the next year, with more face-to-face meetings when it is safe to do so, more ways to get in touch and more ways for you to interact with us, when and how you want to.
We’re also building more homes, with an ambitious local development plan to increase the number of homes to rent, and buy through our shared ownership scheme. We are continuing to help people move into safe and modern homes, as well as continuing to invest in our existing homes and making sure they are well maintained.
We hope that we’ll be able to see more of you in 2021, as we are keen to get out and about and hear what you have to say about our services and how we can improve things further. We’ve started a customer scrutiny group to gain an in-depth understanding of our services from your perspective, but we’re also keen to keep an ongoing dialogue to understand what is most important and how we can work together to improve your service, your home and your local community.
I hope that you all have a safe and happy Christmas and that 2021 will be a better year for us all. We’re certainly looking forward to sharing more about our future plans with you in the spring.
