Dorset gardens in bloom
Gardeners across Dorset were recognised at an awards ceremony in Dorchester recently.
Green fingered residents from Magna Housing were recognised for their skill and hard work to produce beautiful gardens, in Magna’s annual gardening competition.
37 people entered the competition and the standard was very high, so the judges had a hard time placing the winners.
Val Trice, herself a Magna resident, was one of the judges this year. She said: “It was very inspiring to see all the hard work that went into the gardens and we’d love to see more entries next year.”
Peter Wilcox, who lives in Bridport, was the overall winner of the John Foot Cup. He said: “I was absolutely elated to win the cup and it was lovely to meet the other winners at the presentation.”
Winners of the competition were invited to a presentation ceremony at Sandringham Court community room, in Dorchester, to receive their certificates and prizes.
Amanda Taylor, Personal Secretary to the Housing Director at Magna Housing, organises the annual competition. She said: “Magna is committed to creating great homes and communities where people choose to live. The annual garden competition is a great opportunity to showcase the fantastic gardens that our residents have and bring people with similar interests together in their local communities.”
