This week we are sharing some fantastic stories from successful women across Magna as we proudly support International Women's Day. Cimmie Hannam, painter and decorator apprentice, shares her story.

"I started off leaving sixth form not knowing exactly what I wanted to go into for my future, but I knew I wanted it to be in a trade, I just wasn’t sure which one. I tried a level 2 electrical installation course but it just wasn’t me. In my free time I started renovating my mum's house, which is when I saw the Magna painter and decorator apprentice opportunity come up and it was right up my street!

"I get on very well with everyone in my team. I know that most trades tend to be male dominated, that’s why you have to be more resilient and eager to push and succeed even though it might be out of your comfort zone. You have to do what you enjoy, not what anyone else wants you to do.

"To any girls thinking of taking an apprenticeship in a trade - do it! It's worth it."
