At Magna, the wellbeing of our #TeamMagna colleagues is really important to us. So, on #BlueMonday - apparently the most depressing day of the year, we’re sharing the great work we’re doing to support our colleagues not only today but every day.

We have a colleague-led wellbeing support group to promote healthy lifestyles and positive mental health. They develop and deliver events, campaigns and activities for our colleagues to benefit from.

Kate Legg, one of our wellbeing supporters, said: “We’re available to our colleagues using multiple platforms to share important issues, providing tips and advice. Most importantly, we’re available to listen without judgement or criticism, which is probably the most effective tool of all.”

We also provide a Medicash scheme to all colleagues which offers allowances on things such as dental, optical, complimentary health, inoculations and prescriptions. It also has a 24/7 telephone line where colleagues can ring and talk to someone about all sorts of topics - mental health; financial worries; exercise; nutrition etc. The advisors can also recommend up to 7 counselling sessions free of charge for colleagues who need it.

Working in partnership with Fuse, we’re also trialling a new interactive health and wellbeing portal which contains lots of information including a comprehensive library to learn about key health and wellbeing topics and take part in online mindfulness sessions. Colleagues can also complete personalised assessments to understand their own health better, complete personalised health and wellbeing goals that are trackable and supported by our health and wellbeing experts and access new and exclusive weekly wellness podcasts.

Emma Mortimer, HR Support Manager, said: “We’re really pleased to have this additional new tool to support our colleagues’ health and wellbeing throughout this latest national lockdown. Colleagues can access all of this at any time, which we hope will encourage everyone to make the most of the resources and focus on their health and wellbeing.”

We’re proud of the work we’re doing to support our colleagues and promote wellbeing and working to give them a happy #BlueMonday instead.
