The wellbeing of our customers is something we take very seriously, and for Mental Health Awareness Week we’d like to share a few words from Stuart, one of our colleagues who has gone above and beyond in helping to support our customers.

Stuart Daniels, a Maintenance Surveyor at Magna, completed a Mental Health First Aid and Advocacy course through Bournemouth University last year - here’s what he said about it:

“With the high pressure lives we’re now living, our mental health and wellbeing are constantly under strain. I started to see this affecting colleagues, customers and families and I wanted to better understand what I could do to support others. So, I decided to take a course so I would be better prepared to help.

“The course looked at the various types of mental health issues, the symptoms, and how I and Magna can help those affected. I now have a good understanding of the main types of mental health illness, how to interact with someone who is unwell, and the routes to the support that is available.

“As a Surveyor at Magna, I’m often exposed to mental health illness during the course of my day-to-day work, and I really feel the course has given me the skills and confidence to be able to reach out and assist when needed.”

We’re proud to have caring and supportive colleagues like Stuart who go the extra mile for our customers.
