Our Lifeline Services

Independence when you want it, help when you need it.

Our Lifeline service is designed with independence in mind. It’s available for a small cost to anyone living in areas across Dorset and Somerset, not only Magna customers.

Many of our Lifeline customers tell us that they benefit from having the peace of mind that assistance is available if they need it.

What is it?

A Lifeline is a small unit that runs off a Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) signal and it’s used to raise an alarm. You'll be given a pendant, which can be worn around the wrist or neck, and when this is activated it will connect to the 24-hour emergency call centre, who will be able to assist you.

At the touch of a button friends or family can be alerted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering peace of mind and reassurance.

Installation is £30, with an ongoing monthly charge. It’s quick to install in your home, and one of our experts will arrange to visit, at a time convenient to you, to set it up and make sure you understand how to use it.

How it works

Our 24-hour emergency call centre is automatically contacted when you press your pendant. When your call has been received, it will be answered by an operator. If the operator gets no response from you, they will try to reach you on the phone, after which, if there is still no response, they’ll call your contacts, or if necessary, the emergency services.

We also recommend our customers have a key safe fitted outside your home to enable quick access in an emergency.

Lifeline Extras

We have a range of additional items listed below that may help you, such as fall detectors, which can be tailored to your needs and would work with what you already have in place.

It's important to make sure that any technology you choose works for you and promotes your independence. Our Lifeline Extras offer value for money and are competitively priced and our service is to tailored to your needs.

Fall detector

This clever detector is worn around the wrist. It senses the impact and angle of a fall and raises an immediate response from the 24-hour emergency call centre.

Wireless smoke detector

As with a standard smoke detector, this senses smoke in your home and raises an instant alarm. Unlike conventional detectors though, this wireless device raises the alarm through your Lifeline unit to the 24-hour emergency call centre, alerting us of potential fires.
