This week is Fire Door Safety Week and a great opportunity to share the work we’re doing with Savills and Harmony to keep our customers safe.

In partnership with Savills, we’ll be carrying out fire door checks in blocks of flats every twelve months to make sure our doors are up to standard. These inspections are very important, as fire doors play an essential role in preventing and slowing the spread of smoke and toxic gases if a fire starts.

All of our doors will have a small QR code label placed onto them so that we can record information on the type and condition of the door and log future inspections. Once the QR codes have been placed, someone from Savills will visit every twelve months to check that the doors are working as they should be.

We’re also working with Harmony to replace many of our fire doors to make sure they’re up to the required standards. Around 1,000 are being replaced this year and they will help keep our customers even safer in their homes.

We’ve received some great customer feedback about the fire door installations so far. Watch this video of Maurice talking about the work Harmony carried out in his home.
