We are delighted to welcome Kerry Starling as our new Head of Customer and Community Support.

Kerry has worked in housing for 25 years and brings a wealth of experience from a varied career working in role across several housing associations and local authorities.

She said:

“I’m excited about what lies ahead. The role comes with lots of responsibility, but I have experience to bring and I’m enjoying getting stuck in.
“In my first three to 12 months, I’m keen to make sure we’re delivering services well, and that we’re compliant. I’ll be thinking about how we can innovate and work in partnership with local authorities and other partners to bring in additional services for our customers.”

Kerry’s role at Magna plays a crucial part in ensuring we provide the right services and support for our customers, and her experience makes her well placed to lead the way in shaping how our teams deliver our community and support services.

She continued:

“I got my first proper job as a careers advisor. It gave me lots of knowledge and skills which I used to mastermind a move to London and find a role with a housing association as an employment and training officer, supporting customers into work.
“I stayed there for 13 years, doing an Open University degree alongside my role which helped me progress my career. It meant lots of early mornings and late nights, plus lots of weekend studying, but it was worth the hard work.
“I then joined another housing association as their Director of Communities. It was a wide-ranging role which included grants, resident support, community centres and more. A move to one of London’s local authorities came next as their Head of Strategic Housing where I focused on tenant satisfaction measures and tenant engagement strategy.”

After her role in a local authority, Kerry made her move to Magna. We’re really excited for her to bring her experience and passion for supporting customers into the work that we do to continue creating great homes together.
