Everyone at Magna was deeply saddened by the tragic coach crash involving Minehead Middle School students and staff on 17 July. We have many customers and colleagues who live in the area and have links to the school. Since the incident, we’ve been working to support them and the wider community in West Somerset during this difficult time.
We’ve joined together with other local organisations by donating to the Together for West Somerset Appeal. The appeal was set up by the Somerset Community Foundation and will use the funds raised to help the children, families and community affected by the crash. The money will be used to support:
- Individuals experiencing psychological distress, hardship or injury
- Children and staff from Minehead Middle School who are affected
- Individuals in the wider community affected by the incident
The appeal will also provide funding for community organisations working in Minehead and the surrounding areas to provide support to those affected, such as help with emotional wellbeing, hardship or coordinating the community response.
We’ve also pledged to continue working in partnership with other organisations backing the appeal to help the community.
