Last week, we held an event for some of our customers living in Seaton, Devon to bring the community together and spread some positivity.
It was an opportunity for our colleagues and customers to come together and have a friendly chat, enjoy some activities and refreshments, and raise any issues with us on the day to get support and have their questions answered.
Here’s some of what we got up to:
- A quiz for customers with prize vouchers to be won
- Same day repairs and improvements to our communal areas
- Noted down several repair jobs that will be followed up
- Provided a skip and helped customers dispose of old mattresses, a sofa, and more
- Inspected and cleaned the area of litter
- Shared some important fire safety information and answered any questions
Our colleagues were really excited to come along and meet lots of our customers, and our trades colleagues in particular did an amazing job at improving the area by digging up an old washing line pole and repairing some broken slabs on the day, breathing some new life into the grounds.
Neil Bliss, Customer & Community Involvement Officer at Magna, helped to organise the event following some feedback from last year’s neighbourhood visits in Seaton. He said:
“Our customers at Sunset House told us they’d like to see more of us on site and have a chance to talk to our colleagues face to face.
“Holding a dedicated community day gave customers a chance to meet some of our colleagues and discuss issues that were important to them. It was so good to see people on the day and that the skip was well used too!
“We’re now looking at other areas which could benefit from a similar event too.
We’re really proud to have been able to put on this amazing community day for our customers and provide an opportunity for many of our colleagues to come and get involved in #CreatingGreatHomesTogether.
