Earlier this year, we worked closely with Avoca Group to help bring a pergola back to life for some of our customers living in Manor Grove in Martinstown, Dorset. Watch the video below to learn more.

We had identified that the old pergola had become a bit worn out over the years and could do with a refresh. Neil Bliss, Kate Legg and Stuart Daniels all played a key role in securing the materials for the job, sourcing funding, and working with Avoca Group who kindly agreed to provide their labour free of charge.

Stuart, Project Surveyor at Magna, said:

“Customers are at the heart of our very existence as an organisation and working with valued partners such as Avoca Group, enables us to go above and beyond the work required to keep their homes safe and in good condition.
“A vibrant community, such as the one we supported here at Manor Grove, use this pergola to meet and enjoy the company of their friends and neighbours.
“When working with our partners, it is essential that they not only perform to a high standard but understand why they've been asked to work in our communities. Nick and his team at Avoca completely embrace this and as a Surveyor, I fully appreciate the work and the standards that they achieve when representing Magna.”

Avoca Group were able to complete the works over three days, just in time for summer earlier this year, meaning our customers could soak up the sun under their new pergola!

Many of our customers living at Manor Grove are keen gardeners too, and with the help of our community improvement fund we were able to supply them with a brand-new communal water butt as part of this project which wasn’t there before.

We’d like to say a big thank you to Avoca Group for supplying their labour free of charge to support our community with this project, and embodying our vision of creating great homes together.
