Safeguarding children and adults at risk
We believe that it is always unacceptable for a child or adult at risk to experience abuse of any kind and recognise our responsibilities to safeguard the welfare of all children and adults at risk, by a commitment to practice which protects them.
The Care Act 2014 places the safeguarding of adults experiencing or at risk of abuse or neglect on a statutory basis. This means that any organisation that comes into contact with adults at risk, including housing and housing support providers must have clear operational safeguarding policies and procedures reflecting the framework set out by the Safeguarding Adult Board and in consultation with them. They should include what circumstances would lead to the need to report outside internal management to the local authority.
